Principessa is a sparkling wine meant to turn ordinary events into days to remember: it does not need great occasions to uncork, Principessa is a wine for today.
Aged on lees between 18 and 24 months, Cantina Luretta’s best-selling sparkling wine is produced with a low dosage which allows maintaining the perfect balance between structure and clarity. Simplicity, here, does not mean a lack of originality. The opposite: Principessa is a refined wine, which captures the essence of Chardonnay grown on the calcareous marls of Colli Piacentini and expresses its details in a delicate way.

history

Principessa’s origins remain ambiguous even to those of us who have been making it for thirty years. Initially, it was not a wine meant to be sold, but a product created in extremely limited quantities, to be given as a present to friends, relatives, and loyal customers. After years of experimentation with the Traditional Method, however, our Principessa has evolved to have a well-defined character, different from other sparkling wines in circulation.

In the mid 2000’s, thanks to a renewal of the winery’s machinery and to an ever-increasing demand, Principessa became the sparkling wine we know, characterized by the transparent bottle, elegance with a delicate touch, fresh and immediate taste. A refined wine, but not exclusive. Enveloping, yet perfect for the daily aperitif ritual. In few years tens of thousands of bottles were sold and Principessa became the sparkling symbol of Emilia Romagna.
